Emex who left the company on august 3rd after being pushed out by the board for the vastly different views and opinions he had in compare to the rest of the board, the board had concluded that Emex can come back which Emex accepted. Now he is back as Chief Operational Officer and want's to work on emexOS further. The conflict of interest with Emex has been resolved for now. I continue to be the Chief Executive Officer of emexLabs, because the board concluded that I held it well together after Emex broke it in half, I wanna highlight that Emex is not a bad person, he was just not the right person for the job of leading a company. He is Chief Operational Officer to gain more experience and as a second chance and because many board members were close to Emex and to have a functional board we have to get them back. So if you were previously a emexLabs board member, please message LucaVmu under his email. Your opinion is important and we need you.

Yes, you heard that right we are renaming emexDE back to Nyxian, after a recent X (formally Twitter) Poll decided this.
This should also help the Project in the long run, since it has been called Nyxian in nearly all external blog posts.

With this a new update also released, so don't forget to update ;)

What happened​

The split came down to a broader disagreement in views about a theme not related to emexLabs or emexOS. It wasn't personal, but it wasn't something either side could really move past.

What this means​

emexLabs continues on, and emexOS will still be distributed by emexLabs.
But, we now have a different Discord, so please join.

Nyxian has switch ownership over to emexLab and is now named emexDE.
This website is now also used for all of emexLabs projects.

Since the newest release "Avis" (v0.10), you can write, compile, and run Swift code directly inside Nyxian. This is not done through interpretation or any kind of emulation layer. Nyxian uses real Swift compilation with the Swift toolchain and libraries.

That means your code is actually compiled just like it would be on a native system, giving you accurate behavior, proper performance characteristics and full compatibility with Swift’s language features. No shortcuts, no fake runtime, just real Swift.

SwiftUI is supported as well, allowing you to experiment with modern UI development directly within Nyxian.

This is a big step forward, and there's more to come.

As you might have noticed the entire Nyxian website has been changed and now uses Docusaurus.

The entire documentation is written using markdown, so anyone is be able to contribute. But for now no contributing to the website, as the Github repo for the website still needs to be setup...

Does it actually work?​

Yes! Nyxian is an iOS app that empowers developers with a full toolchain they can use while even being offline for iOS development on iPhone. It supports C, ObjC, C++ and ObjC++ with Swift support announced for 0.9.x. It’s a powerful Xcode alternative that made the impossible possible, a fully On-device iOS IDE that doesn’t even need a cloud. It supports officially iOS 18 all the way up to the latest iOS version. You can compile and run iOS apps on the go without any problems, using the entire iOS 26.1 SDK.

My experience with Nyxian?​

I wrote an entire file management app on my iPhone without touching my MacBook and it works amazingly, it compiles and executes the app using powerful techniques like multi-threaded compilation and incremental building in under a second.

Is Apple sleeping on mobile development?​

In my opinion, yes, absolutely, no doubts. The fact that this tool even works on iPhones — not just iPads, is something Apple seems not to have figured out yet, with their Swift Playgrounds application, which they seem to have abandoned.

Why I built Nyxian?​

Hi, I’m Frida (cr4zyengineer), and I created Nyxian. My story started in 2023 when my parents took away my MacBook. I was stuck, I wanted to code, but had no way to develop iOS apps without my computer.
